Sabine Peris
Sabine joined The Primary Care Gambling Service in 2022, and is currently one of the Mental Health Team Leaders.
Sabine trained as a mental health nurse at King’s College London in 2006. She has extensive experience and initially worked in a Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit before moving to Acute Adult services at the Maudsley Hospital.
Her interests further led her to work in Forensic psychiatry. She spent time in a national pilot project focusing on the treatment of offenders suffering from severe personality disorders.
Other areas of experience involve working in a drug and alcohol detoxification unit, as well as the National Autism Unit in London.
Prior to joining the Primary Care Gambling Service, she worked as a specialist mental health nurse in the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, supporting clients hospitalized in a general setting. This included working closely with adolescents suffering from eating disorders.
She is passionate about following the service’s ethic, aiming at providing a multidisciplinary approach to supporting clients suffering from gambling harms in a truly holistic way.
Outside of work, she is a feline fanatic with a particular interest in Persians and Exotic Shorthairs.
